Scratch build 60" 3D Airplane made of Dollar tree foam and Packing tape
I always wanted a 60" 3d Plane. But I just couldn`t get my self to spring for the $200 to $300 price tag for the air-frame alone. So I decided to build one out of dollar tree foam and packing tape.
The cost of the air frame was $20 or $30 dollars depending on on how you look at it. I mean a lot of the stuff I bought can be used for future builds. Anyway it was a great feeling of satisfaction to see that it flew as well as it did. Electronics used: Sunnysky x3520 520kv motor. $50 ZTW Mantis 65A ESC. $40 Power HD servo 1711mg x4. $40 Admiral 3300mah 6 cell battery. $60 Orange receiver. $20 Spectrum DX6i Transmitter. I already had this and is used for my other planes.
This airplane was made of 5mm and 10mm depron foam , balsa wood and plywood, carbon fiber rods for the wings mount , white vinyl and all the stickers were cut in a plotter machine
