Flying tractor, aerobatic model, aileron trainer, fire extinguisher, towing model, Funflyer, Immerdabeiflieger, the Honk combines many features on itself. That's what makes him so versatile. Anyone can build a honk, all you need is the free download plan and some finishing tips.
The idea behind the Honk was a model in agricultural aviation optics with a good span of one meter.
It should be able to fly with a standard equipment, since this is usually somehow present, so with a motor around 80 grams (g) weight, a 3s LiPo with about 2,200 milliamp hours (mAh) capacity and popular 9-g servos. The model should be fully aerobatic and 3D-capable, but also suitable for advanced beginners and poorly mowed meadows with limited airspace.
The goal was also a weight of well below 1,000 g. I wrote in the specification sheet that Honk should be able to pull up to 500 g of weight for F-tow gliders.
It`s been a couple of weeks since I`ve last been out flying, so it was nice to get out and take advantage of a favorable wind and fly one of my old school slope soarers
