The construction of the prototype is very suitable for the replica made of Depron, since the hull of the Tornado is designed as a box hull. In addition, the arrangement of the wings as a shoulder plane does not make any great demands on the replica either. The only point that gave me some headaches was the question of whether the model should also have swiveling wings. The original has a very wide range of uses thanks to the swiveling wings and gives the jet a classy look when it is flown with “big ears”. Because of the complex construction and the pronounced migration of the center of gravity in different wing positions, I finally decided against swing wings. A rigid installation of the wing with approximately 30 degrees sweep was implemented. This means that conventional ailerons can also be installed — the original has none — and landing flaps can also be programmed as a gimmick. The model's tailplane is again very similar to the original and designed as a pendulum rudder. However, there is no rudder. Due to the selected scale, there is plenty of space in the model for RC components and flight batteries. The installation of position lights is also easy to implement.
