FPV (first person view) flying my home-built RC plane. My first experiment with extensive use of 3D printed parts combined with common foam-built RC plane techniques (FliteTest, Experimental Airlines, etc). Printed parts include landing skis, motor mount, boom supports, etc. Takes a hard licking and keep on ticking.
Note: most drone or rc plane videos you may see on youtube are from high-resolution go-pro like cameras, not the poor quality actual video the pilots see while flying. FPV video is transmitted real-time from the plane using old-school analog transmitting technology (just highly miniaturized).
Tried flying on a windier day than I`m used to (8-10mph), allowed for a 13 minute flights on a 1800mAh battery.
If you are a Cessna Plane lover, If you or your kids want to have fun flying RC Planes in Parks, double your picnics fun, then you gotta get yourself one or two of these mini Cessna RC Planes
This technique of 3D printing the wing ribs to hold a true aerofoil shape worked out super well! Combined with foam sheets, packing tape and the lightweight wooden spar, it performs amazingly well!
