HOPPER has a wingspan of 792 mm and essentially consists of 2 mm balsa and 4x4 mm balsa strips. The tail unit is sparingly latticed with 2x4 mm balsa, and the two spar straps, boxed with double balsa, are cut from 1.5 mm aircraft plywood. The motor bulkhead and chassis mount are made of lightweight 4 mm poplar plywood.
HOPPER is designed for a minimum take-off weight of 170 grams — a real retro balsa slowflyer — and it has a very powerful motorization with a 15 g BL motor and a 2S 300 mAh LiPo. Control is only via height and side, therefore two servos of the 5 g class are sufficient, e.g. Hitec HS-40. 
The fuselage is only ironed in the field between the wings, otherwise it remains completely as an open grid construction. This not only facilitates access to the electronics and linkage, but also saves work and weight. In the bobber style: leave out what is not absolutely needed. 
As special features, HOPPER has a steering rear wheel, magnetically removable plug-in wings and a removable chassis.
