In this video I`ll go over my "Lessons Learned" with building # X Guillow model aircraft - the Lancer and two Arrows - and converting them to radio control flight and discussing a flight review.
I use the ParkZone ultra-micro motor and RC electronics for all of my Guillow model RC conversions. The ParkZone hardware weighs 0.6 ounces with the lipo battery. This gives me a upper limit of a 30 inch wingspan and an aircraft weight of no more than 3 ounces.
The video discusses building tips, use of lightweight covering, always "building in lightness" and a demonstration of each model in flight.
The build of the two Arrows is instructive. Same builder for both kits (myself), same kit, yet the weight of the second Arrow is 0.5 ounces heavier than the first, with a resulting penalty in flight performance.
Guillow models can be successfully converted to RC flight using these planning and building tips.
No RC plane is safe around Test-pilot Tim (grab your popcorn) and in this video you get 8 minutes of uncut nitro terror as he hurls the Kyosho Calmato around the sky in an attempt to break it
